Smokey Hot Eyes!

I have been a fan of smokey eyes. I feel the glamour and sophistication when wearing it. As I am a newbie in makeup, proper techniques are essential  to achieve the perfect smokey eyes.  When you get it wrong, you look like a scary white lady in one of those horror movies. lol. The key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue.
I decided to do a black-dark brown-bronze-gray smokey eyes.
(Colors may vary from picture to picture since I used my Iphone camera only)

HERE'S HOW:

EYES:

1. Make sure that your eyes are oil-free keeping eye shadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on. I started putting an eyeshadow base. I used my Urban Decay's Potion Primer and swiped it over my lid to crease including the brow-bone. Please make sure to let the base dry before doing the next step.

2. For my eye shadow, I started with the grayish color of NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette (The Runway Collection) and put all over my crease using my eye shadow brush.

Then I added a deep chocolate brown over the coppery gold from MAC Natural Flare Mineralize Eye Shadow over the grayish color from step 2 just at the center of the crease using the same eyeshadow brush.

3. Next, I slightly pulled  my eye and used a contour brush to put the Charcoal color from the same NYX Runway palette just at the inside corner of  the crease. Dubbed it and sweep it in. I grabbed my blending brush and blended the charcoal color to the other colors to get a fine look. Blended the edge of the colors until it smudged a little bit on the brow bone. The key of smokey eyes is to blend, blend, and blendAfter that, I used an angle brush to run along the charcoal color to the center of the lower lash line. I used the same brush and tapped a bit of the coppery bronze color from the MAC Natural Flare Mineralize Eye shadow and continued to run along the lower lash line until the edge of the eye. I ran my finger over it to smudge the line. I applied a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

 4. Applied eyeliner.I also applied a gel liner just at the top of my upper lash line and winged it a bit farther like the photo below. This gave me a fuller look.

5.  I finished my eyes by curling my lashes and  put a couple layers of mascara along the upper and lower lashes and I'm done. I used my favorite Maybelline Falsies Mascara.

CHEEKS AND LIPS:

6. I know face contour is very important but for this look, I wanted a simple pink color. I used BodyShop's Lily Cole Limited Edition Lip and Cheek Dome. Just tap tap tap!

7. Nude color lips is best for strong color eye shadows. So, I used MAC A36 Angel Frost for this look.

Now, look is finished and I'm ready for a night affair!

I hope you love it!
